CRSA's 2015 Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Maryville, TN Smoky Mountain Highland Games. Our President, Mick Rose, began the meeting by piping two standards: 'The Tune of Great Memories‘ and, of course, 'Constant and True.’ Mick reported on the state of our treasury, which is very healthy, and announced the board's new plan to award scholarships and awards to various performers of traditional Scottish cultural arts, such as piping, drumming, dancing, studying Scottish history, and competing in traditional Scottish heavy games.
Also on the agenda was the election of several/director positions. CRSA is pleased to announce that Gregory K Rose, director and vice president, Rick Novosad, director and treasurer, and Colleen R Jones, director and secretary were all unanimously re-elected. The new terms of service for these individuals will begin on January 1, 2016 and run through December 31. 2017.
The members were also asked to approve an amendment to the Society‘s By Laws, eliminating the requirement that the AGM be held in the fall, and reducing notice requirements. These amendments were unanimously passed.
